Hey y'all, I am Yusef Ibrahim!

Electrical engineer with co-op experience, aspiring expert and analog circuit designer.

I have experience in MATLAB, C, C++, VHDL,PLC, Analog and Digital Circuit design and software testing. My expertise includes undergraduate-level circuit design, VHDL and C++ programming, and digital system programming. I have completed diverse projects focusing on circuit analysis, bandpass filters, digital signal processing, state machines, and more. Both inside and outside the classroom, I have gained hands on experience with laboratory equipment and learned soft skills through my involvement on campus.

Currently all of my projects are on a different site: PROJECTS

Yusef

I am a fourth-year Electrical Engineering Technology student and I attend Rochester Institute of Technology. I completed a 7 month internship at General Motors Flint Engine Operations as a Controls Engineer.

Ibrahim

Aspiring Electrical Hardware Engineer with a focus on circuit design, filters, semiconductors. Eager to contribute strong circuit design, PCB layout, and firmware development skills to create efficient, reliable embedded solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment for internship/co-op roles this summer term, Summer 2025.

Electrical

I am currently taking part of a wonderful opportunity to intern at General Motors for 7 months! So far, I have been able to obtain real industry experience and apply my skills to the field. On the first day visiting the factory, I was astonished and a little overwhelmed of everything that goes on in the Flint Engine facility. Over time I became familiar and comfortable with the processes, machines, and my coworkers. I am able to understand the importance of my role and how it properly execute it daily to ensure success of whatever line I am working on.

Outside the classroom, I held the position of Secretary for my College for one year. Also, I serve as a Resident Advisor for my RIT's Residence Life. Through these roles, I've sharpened my communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, enriching the overall college experience for students. Moreover, I've established meaningful connections with a diverse range of people.

Future

I am very passionate about my position as a Teaching Assistant. For multiple circuits and design courses, I assist with guidance, instruction and material distribution. I have created practices tests for my students, held exam review sessions, and tutored during office hours. I have started a YouTube Channel and TikTok account where I post videos that walkthrough problems.

My goal for this year is to record and upload 5 more high quality videos that can help students taking those courses. I have now covered 4 different RIT Courses in videos!

Professional Experience

MAY 2024 - DECEMBER 2024

Manufacturing/Electrical Controls Engineer, General Motors

I am currently enjoying my role as Controls Engineer intern at General Motors. I am having tons of fun and learned insurmountable knowledge about problem solving and critical thinking. Some of my tasks and responsibilities:

  • Configured programs, troubleshooted PLC based control systems and associated components

  • Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipment.

  • Diagnosed and corrected deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment.
